Your rights
Last updated: 22 March 2026.
Under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR), you may have rights over your personal data. This page explains those rights and how to exercise them, including how to submit a data subject access request (DSAR).
Rights you may have
Depending on your circumstances, you may be entitled to:
- Access: Receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: Limit how we use your data in certain situations.
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
- Objection: Object to processing based on our legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. For optional in-app product analytics (PostHog) and error monitoring (Sentry), you can withdraw consent directly in Sequence Tool app Settings; you do not need to submit a request through this page.
- Make a complaint: Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Guidance and contact details are available at ico.org.uk.
Not all rights apply in every case. We will explain what applies when we respond.
How to submit a request
If you have an account, submit requests from your account privacy settings first. This is usually the fastest way for us to verify you.
If you cannot use your account, use the Privacy Request Form below or email . In either case, tell us which right you are exercising (or that you are making a DSAR) and include details that help us locate your data (for example, your account email or approximate sign-up date).
What happens next
- We verify identity before disclosing, changing, or deleting personal data.
- We aim to respond within one month (extensions may apply where lawful).
- There is no fee for a first request unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Deletion limits
Deletion requests remove personal data from active systems and may include account closure and revocation of active licence/device access. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, accounting and tax records). Encrypted backups are removed on their normal expiry cycle.

Privacy Request Form
To turn off optional in-app product analytics or error reporting, use Settings in the Sequence Tool app. You do not need this form for that.
Information submitted through this form is used only to process your request and verify your identity.
