Accessibility statement

Last updated: 22 March 2026.

This accessibility statement applies to the Sequence Tool® website (including marketing pages and account-related web flows) and the Sequence Tool® macOS application. It explains the standards we aim to meet, how to get help, and how we handle feedback.

Legal framework and standards

As a private business providing goods and services in the UK, the primary legal framework that can apply to how we deliver our services (including digital services) is the Equality Act 2010. That Act requires reasonable adjustments for disabled people (including anticipatory adjustments) and addresses discrimination in the provision of services.

For our website, we aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, which is the current benchmark widely used in the UK.

European Accessibility Act (EAA)

We believe Sequence Tool® falls within the scope of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) as consumer software supplied through e-commerce. The EAA has applied in EU Member States from June 2025 for products and services within its scope. We sell to customers in the UK and internationally, including within the EU. We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA-aligned practices on our website and ongoing improvements to the accessibility of our macOS app in line with these expectations. If you are in the EU and have questions about how this applies to your purchase, contact us using the details below.

Our commitment

We aim to make our website and app usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies. We work to the best of our ability to maintain and improve accessibility as we ship updates.

macOS application (Sequence Tool®)

Sequence Tool® uses SwiftUI and AppKit: standard controls expose accessibility information to assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, and we add descriptive accessibility labels and hints to interactive elements throughout the app. The app provides extensive keyboard access through the menu bar and keyboard shortcuts shown in menus, and shortcuts can be customized in Settings (Keyboard), so you can complete core workflows without relying on a pointer; if you find an interaction that seems to require a pointer, please tell us. Our interface uses semantic text styles that respect macOS text size settings, and spacing, icons, and many layout measurements scale with those settings. Colors follow your light or dark mode preference, and we adapt our palette when macOS high-contrast accessibility display modes are active. Some decorative animations do not yet fully respect the system "Reduce motion" setting everywhere; we intend to improve this over time, please contact us if motion is problematic for you.

Known limitations and testing status

We are conducting a structured review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the website and tracking accessibility improvements in the macOS app. We may not yet meet every success criterion in every area. A known limitation today is that decorative animations in the macOS app do not fully respect the system "Reduce motion" setting everywhere (see the macOS application section above). As we confirm other specific non-conformities or practical barriers, we will list them here and update this page as progress is made.

Request accommodations, alternative formats, or report an issue

If you need information in an alternative format, for example large print or plain text, we'll do our best to provide it. If you believe we can improve accessibility, contact us at .

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 5 working days, and to provide a substantive response (including next steps and, where feasible, a resolution timeline) within 20 working days.

When you write, it helps if you include:

  • The page URL (if applicable) or the part of Sequence Tool® you were using
  • A short description of the issue and what you were trying to do
  • Your preferred contact method

If you are not satisfied (enforcement and your options)

As a private company, the accessibility regulations monitored by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations principally apply to public sector organisations, not to businesses like ours. For context, see GOV.UK guidance on public sector accessibility requirements.

Depending on your situation, your rights and potential routes for redress may instead arise under the Equality Act 2010 (for example, complaints processes, alternative dispute resolution, or civil claims). This statement is not legal advice; if you need advice about your specific circumstances, consider speaking to a qualified adviser.

Changes and review

We may update this statement when our services, legal context, or accessibility goals change. We review this statement at least once every 12 months. Next planned review: March 2027. The "Last updated" date on this page reflects the most recent revision.
